A "Feel Good" adventure

Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana announces its upcoming volunteer training sessions for the month of February.

MOW delivers meals to more than 1300 clients and is seeking volunteers.

“If you would like to help your neighbors, why not help us deliver meals? We are having training/orientation on Tuesday, February 11, at 10:00 am and again on Thursday, February 20, at 1:00 pm in our offices at 8446 Virginia Street, Merrillville,” said Joan Vith, Volunteer Manager.

Training lasts a little more than an hour and ends with a tour of the building.

Volunteers deliver meals at mid-day.

“If you have an hour and a half available during the middle of the day you can deliver meals to our clients who reside in the community nearest to you. Your knock on the door and the smile on your face can give you the power to change someone’s day. It could change yours too,” Vith said. “Volunteering for Meals on Wheels to deliver meals to our clients can be a most rewarding adventure.”

Please call Volunteer Manager, Joan Vith, at 756-3663 and reserve your seat at the next session. Volunteers support route deliveries, office work and kitchen assistance.
