INDOT holding October job fairs and interviews
The LaPorte District of the Indiana Dept. of Transportation is hiring snowplow drivers for the winter season, November to March. Job fairs are scheduled for five subdistricts in northern Indiana during October.
Seasonal Winter Program Workers perform snow and ice removal operations and earn $15 per hour, plus overtime.
Workers must meet the following requirements: Possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License); be able to rotate shifts, able to endure exposure to inclement weather, submit to and pass a drug test, and able to lift 50 pounds. Also, perform functions such as lifting, dragging, stooping, waving and other activities.
Job seekers who submit applications at the job fairs may be interviewed on the spot.
The Gary Subdistrict job fair is October 3, 7601 Melton Road, Gary.
Hours for all job fairs are Noon to 4 p.m., local time.
The LaPorte job fair is Oct. 4, 315 East Boyd Boulevard, LaPorte.
Plymouth job fair is Oct. 5, Jack Greenlee Dr. (formerly Commerce St.), Plymouth.
Rensselaer job fair is Oct. 10, 1130 East Maple, Rensselaer.
Monticello job fair is Oct. 12, at Logansport Unit, 2168 South S.R. 25, Logansport.
Applicants should bring their driver’s license, record of highest education achieved (i.e. Diploma) and current resume. Applying online at www.careers.in.gov will speed up the interview process.
