New service hours for Gary Public Library branches start October 1

Some branches will shut down for 2 days
Maria Strimbu, the Public Relations Manager for Gary’s public library system announced closing dates and reduced hours for branches that were set at the June 28 Library Board of Trustees meeting.
The last day for the Brunswick Branch, 4030 W. 5th Avenue, is Saturday, October 1, 2016.
Strimbu said the date for the DuBois Branch closure hasn’t been determined. It will close after the renovated Gary Public Library and Cultural Center, 220 W. 5th Avenue, opens.
After October 1, new library hours will be in effect.
Hours for the Du Bois Library, 1835 Broadway, will be Monday to Thursday, 9am - 8pm, Friday to Saturday, 9am - 5pm.
Kennedy Branch hours, 3953 Broadway, will be Monday 10am - 6pm, Wednesday and Thursday from noon - 8pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm, closed Tuesday and Friday.
Woodson Branch hours, 501 S. Lake Street, will be Monday and Thursday from noon - 8pm, Tuesday 10am - 6pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm, closed Wednesday and Friday.
