Hard Rock Casino fills Salvation Army kettle with $25K

Supports rental, food, and utility assistance programs at Gary-Merrillville Community Center

At a special ceremony, Matt Schuffert, President of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana and Michael Gaudreau, Vice President of Casino Operations, presented Captain Brian Clark, The Salvation Army of Lake County Coordinator and Amanda Keene, Corps Officer in charge of the Gary-Merrillville Community Center with an oversized check for $25,000.

The funds will support programs and services provided by the community center. Gaudreau recently joined the Salvation Army of Lake County’s Advisory Board.

“Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana is committed to helping The Salvation Army of Lake County provide assistance to individuals and families who are in need. We are very proud to partner with them and support the great work that they do,” said Schuffert.

Captain Brian Clark, Coordinator of The Salvation Army of Lake County said, “These funds will go a long way to help us provide much needed services to people in our area who are struggling.”

The Gary-Merrillville Corps Community Center provides rent, utilities and food assistance to those who are at risk of homelessness and hunger. The center also provides summer and after-school programs for local children, youth activities, as well as support services for women and seniors.
