Bill Johnson Film Festival returns to Glen Theatre

3-day festival produced by Gary native is back for 14th year
The 14th Annual Black Film Festival will feature films from Black artists in February at the Glen Theatre, 20 West Ridge Road in Gary.
The series of independent films to be screened during the festival will be hosted by Gary native and Hollywood actor William L. Johnson. The 3-day event will present the genres of comedy, crime, drama, romance, and thrillers each with a specific Black theme.
The festival will begin on Friday, February 21 and will continue through Saturday and end on Sunday, February 23. The Friday evening event will open with a 6:30 p.m. reception. Tickets will be sold in advance for $20 and $25 at the door; Saturday tickets will sell for $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
A private presentation of student offerings at 9 a.m. will precede the Friday evening reception and films.
The final event is billed as a feature film fest and will take place on Sunday, February 23. Tickets at the door are $10 but attendees on Friday or Saturday will receive free passes.

”Unfailing Love (feature),” “Black History Man 2,” “The Visitor,” “Rock Island Prison 1864,” “The Strauss Sneeze Sonata,” and “Les Audis-Act II-Henry’s” (shorts)
Saturday, February 22, 2025, 7 p.m.
”Secrets 2 (feature),” “Write This,” “Bad Day: Good Man Gone Bad,” “Echoes Unheard,” “The Knowing,” “Break Free,” and “Crown” (shorts).
Sunday, February 23, 2025, 4 p.m.
3 feature films including “My Private Line to God,” “Box Brown: A Box Marked Freedom,” and “The Solution.”
