Reports say Robinson pleaded guilty to federal charges this week

Second-hand reports are surfacing that Kimberly K. Robinson, the Calumet Township Trustee submitted her resignation Friday.

Reliable sources say Robinson pleaded guilty to federal charges this week and the resignation is part of the agreement.

If true, Robinson is the 3rd consecutive CT Trustee to have been charged with official misconduct.

Robinson is in her third term as Calumet Township Trustee. She was first elected in 2014, defeating then Township Trustee Mary Elgin. Elgin was later charged and convicted in 2018 of official misconduct and served time in a federal prison.

Elgin was preceded in the office by Dozier Allen, who also was charged and convicted of official misconduct. Allen and two co-defendants, Wanda Joshua and Ann Marie Karras received federal prison sentences in 2010. Joshua is Robinson’s mother.
