Tour designed for SNAP recipients to learn and earn
SNAP, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients can learn and earn at the Miller Beach Farmers Market, Sunday, August 22 by registering for the Miller Beach Market Tour.
The tour will teach SNAP recipients how to navigate a farmers market environment using the Miller Beach Market as a backdrop. SNAP recipients will learn how to identify SNAP eligible goods, store produce, create delicious meals, farmers market etiquette and more.
Marie Pittman, project coordinator for No Kid Hungry said, "We will explore how to identify SNAP eligible goods, products and vendors. Registrants will receive special recipes from each farmers market vendor and a bag full of goodies."
Registration deadline is Friday, August 20; call (219) 671-3310. Tour starts at 11am and ends at 1pm. The Miller Beach Farmers Market location is 667 S. Lake Street, Gary, IN
