West Side Theatre Guild proudly presents Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, produced and directed by Mark Spencer.

The play is an adaptation of the 1968 Andrew Lloyd-Webber stage musical based on the Old Testament story of the second youngest son and favorite child of Jacob.

Jacob’s gift of a coat of many colors to Joseph angers the 11 older brothers. The jealous brothers sell Joseph into slavery. They return to their father with the coat, covered in blood, with a tale that Joseph was killed by an animal.

The cast of fifty includes students of the Gary Community School Corporation. Altovise Ferguson and West Side Leadership Academy junior Jalaiyah Prince serve as Narrators and Spencer as Joseph.

Original choreography from the 2011 WSTG production by Asia Dickens, dance instruction by Cheryl Barnes and assisted by Cheyenne Johnson, music instruction by Keith Neerlson and Frank Menzies.

Performances are Friday and Saturday, May 6 and May 7, at 7pm in the West Side Theatre (Main Space), 900 Gerry St., Gary.

Tickets are FREE to the public and are available at West Side Leadership Academy Main Office, 900 Gerry St.; Gary City Hall, 401 Broadway; and YWCA of NWI, 150 W. 15th Avenue.
