IU Northwest offering free dental exams, cleanings, X-rays for children

Annual 'Give Kids a Smile' helps children who may not have dental insurance
The annual Give Kids a Smile event, hosted by the Indiana University Northwest Dental Hygiene Program in partnership with the American Dental Association, will provide free dental exams, dental cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatments, and oral hygiene instructions to children ages 5-12.
The event will be hosted from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 21 in the IU Northwest Dunes Medical/Professional Building – Dental Clinic, room 1030 – on the Gary campus, 3400 Broadway.
Dental hygiene students from IU Northwest will provide care, alongside a licensed dentist and dental hygienists. Last year, IU Northwest students helped 10 children by donating more than $1,200 in dental services.
