Effective immediately, Methodist Hospitals cancels visitors

Issues new visitor restrictions with some exceptions

Following Indiana's new COVID-19 guidelines for hospitals to review and revise their policies and procedures to help decrease risks to the virus, Methodist Hospitals provided the restrictions in a statement Tuesday, November 17.

"Until further notice, no visitors will be allowed in our facilities with the following exceptions:

"One adult support person may visit/accompany critically ill, mother/baby, and/or Emergency Department patients.

"One adult support person may accompany the patient during the admission and discharge processes for outpatient surgical procedures.

"One adult support person may accompany patients needing assistance for outpatient testing. No one under the age of 18 should be in the building unless they are a patient. Universal masking will continue in all Methodist facilities. Those unable to comply will be asked to leave the premises.

"No one should visit if they are ill or have any symptoms including fever, cough, difficulty breathing, headache, chills, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, vomiting and/or diarrhea, loss of taste or smell. Temperature and symptom checks will continue at all entrances.

"Masks are required at all Methodist Hospital facilities

"Those unable to comply will be asked to leave."
