Northern Indiana Links support for kids oral health gets $1000 Colgate award

Provided dental screenings, instructions on dental care at Gary School Supply Giveaway
The Northern Indiana Chapter of the Links, Inc. was recently recognized for its yearly Colgate Oral Health Screening program during the Links Leadership Summit in Columbus Ohio. Chapter President Alesia Pritchett was notified that the organization was granted an award for $1000 to support future programs.
Tooth decay is one of the most chronic conditions of children in the United States. The Bright Smiles, Bright Futures program provides oral health education and dental screenings across the U.S. Local students received a dental screening, instructions on proper dental care, nutrition and a dental care kit.
Each year the Northern Indiana (IN) Chapter of the Links, Inc. has partnered with the Gary School Supply Giveaway to encourage and support local students as they start a new school year. Beginning in 2015, the Chapter provided an opportunity for 400 students to be screened through the Bright Smiles program.
