Opens the West Side Theatre Guild's 22nd Season
WSTG’s large ensemble cast of students and professional artists will return in the annual production of Lyrics and with an apology from director Mark Spencer.
“Welcome to our 22nd season. Also, I would like to thank you for your patience. We are starting the season a little later than usual. We have welcomed our family and students from Emerson School for the Visual & Performing Arts to our home,” Spencer said. When Emerson closed at the end of the 2017-18 school year, its entire arts programs were shifted to West Side Leadership Academy.
Lyrics Revealed! will take place on Friday, December 7 at 7 p.m. in the main theatre, featuring dance, choir, orchestra, drama, and visual arts.
Spencer said Lyrics will pay tribute to Aretha Franklin with songs and an interview with her former publicist. “We will premiere the new WSTG film "Help Wanted" starring Phillip Van Lear and WSTG students. The Guild will also release a new CD. Every member of the audience will receive a copy.”
Revealed! will be hosted by television personality Val Warner and will feature special guest, gospel legend Marvin Sapp!
