The following programs are being offered by Methodist Hospitals to members of the Northwest Indiana Community in September, October, November and December.
Prepared Childbirth Classes - This is a four-week course designed to assist pregnant mothers and their partner to learn about labor, delivery and the immediate post-partum period.
The first three weeks focus on labor: relaxation, breathing, and breast-feeding. Week four discusses parenting topics.
On Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. on September 11 through October 2, and October 9 through October 30 and November 6 to November 27 at the Southlake Campus, 8701 Broadway, Merrillville, in the Maternal Fetal Medicine Conference Room.
On Mondays at 6:00 p.m. September 10 to October 1, October 8 to October 29 and November 5 to 26 at the Northlake Campus, 600 Grant Street, Gary, in the Slick Conference room on the first floor.
Lactation (Breastfeeding) Walk-in Clinic
Free clinic for pre-natal and post-natal breastfeeding mothers. Share stories, make connection and learn about support resources that are available. Beverages will be served.
Northlake Campus: Fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m.

Smoking Cessation Classes - Methodist Hospitals’ Smoking Cessation Classes are based on the highly successful American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking Program, which has helped people across the U.S. take control of their health by quitting smoking.
Classes consist of seven (7) 90-minute to two-hour sessions over seven weeks for $60. Mondays, October 1 to November 12, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Community Memorial Service - Join us for a free community memorial service to honor and celebrate loved ones lost in the past year. Refreshments will be served following the service.
