Urban League seeks tax preparers for VITA program

Assist income eligible seniors in preparing their individual tax returns
The Urban League of Northwest Indiana, Inc. is seeking individuals who are willing to complete the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Certification process in order to volunteer for the 2018 VITA program that assists income eligible seniors in preparing their individual tax returns.
Training sessions at the Urban League will begin on Monday, January 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday, January 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3101 Broadway, Gary, Indiana.
Time required for interested persons will vary depending on prior knowledge of the tax subjects and computer proficiency.
All training is done through the IRS Link and Learn Certification website as a self-study program.
