Urban League joins with Ring to deliver free video doorbell security systems

1000 senior citizens in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties will be provided with increased peace of mind
The Urban League of Northwest Indiana (ULNWI) announced a community program in collaboration with Ring to support senior safety in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties.
With the support of the ULNWI’s Federation of Block Clubs, Ring, whose mission is to make neighborhoods safer, is donating 1,000 Ring Video Doorbells, including free installation and a Ring Protect subscription, to local residents 55 years and older throughout Northwest Indiana counties, as defined by ULNWI.
Ring will cover the installation cost associated with the donated device.
Ring will provide a Ring Protect Basic video recording subscription for the life of the donated device at no cost to senior residents.
Ring will provide a Security Yard Sign with each donated device at no cost to senior residents.
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be selected to receive a donated device on a first come, first served basis.
Before the video system is installed, the user must have a smart phone with internet access, working Wi-Fi with Internet Access, access to an email address, and does not already own a Ring Doorbell.
“The safety of our seniors is always a priority in the communities we serve,” said Urban League of NWI President and CEO Dr. Vanessa Allen-McCloud. “Our community program with Ring not only provides an additional layer of protection but can help provide peace of mind for interested seniors and their loved ones.”

Residents interested in receiving a donated device can apply on Ring’s website https://communityprograms.ring.com/nwindiana starting July 26th.
