Professional disc jockey, music industry graphic artist, and promoter
Local turntable jock Steve ‘Dj Slash’ Segura headlines the Hard Rock Casino’s Council Oaks Room at 8pm on Saturday, December 9 and Saturday, December 21.
Dj Slash began his career back in 1983, spinning house, dance music, early hip-hop, and various other genres on 12-inch vinyl. He was an avid promoter of concerts throughout Northwest Indiana and a founding member of the Bomb Squad Djs.
In the early 90’s Dj Slash shifted gears and began designing music industry graphics—albums and CD covers, and flyers for major artists, radio stations, and Djs throughout the country. During the mixtape era, he was the most highly sought-after artist in Chicagoland.
He came back on the scene in the early 2000s with the revival of the Original Old Skool Jam and he’s been rocking clubs, private parties, and corporate venues ever since.
He was the resident Dj at Sal’s Place in Highland, Indiana and at local Salsa hot spots. He spun at various Northwest Indiana clubs – Matey’s in Michigan City, The Hard Rock Casino for Cinco De Mayo, and Streeter's Tap in Downtown Chicago – just to name a few.
Dj Slash was also the former resident Dj at “It’s Vegas Baby” for the Blue Chip Casino for 6 years and is now organizing concerts in NWI.
Dj Slash recently spun at “Six06 Cafe and Bar,” the local House Music hot spot in downtown Chicago.
