Links present $8500 check to Sojourner Truth House

ICYMI: Links, Inc. raised over $25,000 in COVID-19 donations to support 3 Northwest Indiana organizations

Food Bank of NWI, Sojourner Truth House, and the YWCA of NWI each received $8500

The Northern Indiana Chapter of The Links, Inc. held its 1st ever "Virtual Day Party" fundraiser on Sunday, May 24, 2020. The fundraising goal was to support local agencies that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many organizations are unable to financially support themselves which presents a challenge to assist the community. The three charitable organizations selected were the Food Bank of NWI, Sojourner Truth House and the YWCA of NWI. All three organizations believe in the mission of helping and serving others.

The "Virtual Day Party" fundraiser that was featured via Zoom was a large success and raised net proceeds of $25,500. Donors joined this Zoom LIVE event from across the country. "Many thanks to their support in helping us provide much needed support throughout the Northwest Indiana community, " said Che King, Public Relations Chair

Presentations took place Saturday, July 11.

The Northern Indiana Chapter of The Links, Inc. is a part of the international organization established in 1946. The local chapter was chartered in 1958 and provides cultural, educational and financial support to enrich the lives of youth in Northwest Indiana. Annually. The chapter raises funds for college scholarships, mentoring and cultural enrichment programs and the STEM program at Frankie Woods McCullough Academy, in Gary.
